Frequently Asked Questions
What is Permanent Jewelry?
Permanent Jewelry is created by melting two similar metals together using a specific welding method called Pulse Arc Welding or Micro T.I.G. (Tungsten Inert Gas). Pulse Arc Welders use electrical energy to produce high-quality welds.
Does it hurt?
Absolutely not! We weld metal together, not your skin. The weld never touches your skin. We place a piece of leather between the welding point and your skin for extra precaution; although the weld can be done without it.
What other safety precautions do you implement?
Welding creates a high flash of light so you and the welder will be required to wear safety glasses.
What do I do if I want to remove it?
You can come into the shop to remove your chain or you may take a pair of wire cutters and cut the jump ring (the ring where the two ends of the chain are brought together).
Pro-tip: Save your chain after cutting it. When you want to put it back on, we can reuse the same chain.
